WEEKENDS ONLY (Saturday & Sunday) year round
1942 CURTISS P-40 KITTYHAWK
Our pride and joy is our refurbished P-40N-5, reconstructed from remnants of Curtis P40N-5, combat fighter (4)2105306, a sturdy Warhawk originally on active duty in the Pacific Theatre in WWII. Flown under the skilled guidance of Captain Ray Melikian, 7th Fighter Squadron, it ruined the whole day for at least three Japanese Zero pilots. Chris Prevost, our chief pilot, spent nine determined, creative and diligent years rebuilding this now mint condition rodeo ride for customers eager to re-live the glory days of our Army Air Force and Flying Tigers. Chris’s masterpiece is one of very few P-40s flying these days, with a full cockpit added for a passenger.
This magnificent machine has a throaty, Allison V-1710-115, 1360 HP engine, enabling it to hurtle through the California sky at over 350 mph. Our favorite P-40 is registered with the FAA as N540TP. Its original serial number, (4)215306, appears on the vertical tail, as it decorates the California blue with the grace of its namesake hawk, evoking memories of brave men and historic challenges.

NORTH AMERICAN P-51 MUSTANG
The P-51 “Mustang” is considered to be the most famous fighter of WWII. There are only a handful of them that fly commercially, and our has a jumpseat for passenger flights.
Originally introduced in 1940, the P-51 saw many engine and design enhancements throughout its long lived fighting career. Restored and ready to fly, this is an experience unlike any other.

Ultimate WWII Fighter Pilot Experience
North Bay Air Museum. The Only Place on Earth You Can Climb Through the Exact WWII Training Pipeline and Finish in a Real Shark-Mouthed P-40 Warhawk… in One Day. No simulators. No video games. Just you, the Sonoma sky, and three (or perhaps four) of the most legendary warbirds ever built.
FLIGHT 1 – Boeing-Stearman PT-17 “Kaydet” | 20 minutes
This is where every Army Air Forces pilot started in 1941. Wind screaming past your goggles, scarf snapping, that big radial engine rumbling like thunder, it’s 20 minutes of pure open-cockpit joy. And yes- this is your aerobatic playground. Loops, rolls, hammerheads, Cuban-eights… whatever your stomach (and grin) can handle. Our Stearman is one of the rare ones with a front passenger bench-seat, so bring your best friend, your kid, your dad, because two can fly together (if you choose). It feels like a convertible rollercoaster in the sky!
FLIGHT 2 – North American AT-6 Texan “The Pilot Maker” | 20 minutes
Graduate to the advanced trainer that turned graduates of the Stearman into WWII fighter and bomber pilots. Sleek, fast, loud. You’ll feel the retractable gear, the constant-speed prop, the pure 1940s muscle. You’ll carve big sweeping turns over wine country, feel real G-forces, and understand exactly why the Texan was called “the schoolhouse of the skies.”
THE GRAND FINALE – Curtiss P-40 Warhawk | Full 30-minute mission
Only about 25 flying P-40s left on the planet. You’re about to strap into one complete with Flying Tigers shark mouth, Allison V-12 growl, and that unmistakable warbird silhouette. Bank over the vineyards at 250 mph in the same airplane that fought the first air battles of WWII from Pearl Harbor to China to North Africa. People literally travel the globe just for a chance to ride in one. You get to do it over world-renowned (and friendly) Sonoma blue!
Price for the full three WWII flight progression (70+ minutes of flight time + jacket + hat + lunch ): $3,950
(approx. 3 hours experience)
